I’m often asked what sort of people come on my courses, but there’s no real single answer to this question. In 10 years of running courses at Penny’s Mill I’ve taught students from all over the world, from all walks of life and of all ages.
Cooking for a Living
My cookery courses are primarily designed as vocational training for people who want to cook for a living, particularly on yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, or as chalet chefs in the Alps. Most of my students are or wish to be professional cooks, but anyone who wants to improve their cooking skills is welcome. The most important things to bring to the course are a willingness to learn and above all a passion for food.
Preparing and cooking meat and fish are a fundamental part of the course, and as such the course is not suitable for vegetarians
