Penny's Mill

Penny’s Mill is an attractive converted watermill that is over 200 years old. It is situated in the quiet, pretty village of Nunney. Set in the rolling Somerset countryside, Nunney boasts not only a small shop, post office and pub but also its own ruined medieval castle. We are close to the Georgian city of Bath and less than two hours by train from London. The nearest railway station is in Frome, around 3 miles away.

A Beautiful Setting

Our walled vegetable garden provides many of the fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit we use in the kitchen daily. When the weather allows, we can eat on the terrace to the sound of the waterfall and mill stream, which runs through the garden. The large kitchen where we work is comprehensively equipped and leads into the conservatory dining room.

Friendly Surroundings

As well as myself, you’ll share Penny’s Mill with my husband Bill, who runs his furniture design business from a separate office on site, and two ginger cats, Bouzy and Monty.

Comfortable Accomodation

The mill is on three floors, with many original oak beams exposed. Accommodation for students is in two twin-bedded rooms on the top floor, with WC/shower room and your own sitting area with TV. If required, single room accommodation can be arranged close by in the village for a small supplement. Students at Penny’s Mill work hard but at the end of the day they can relax in warmth and comfort, with all the benefits of a real home.
